He enjoyed a long career at The New York Times\, where he covered a variety of beats including politics\, crime\, education\, transportation and religion. \nGoldman carried those lessons with him to a second career as a professor at Columbia University’s prestigious Graduate School of Journalism\, where he heads the Scripps Howard Program in Religion\, Journalism and the Spiritual Life. He is the recipient of two Fulbright teaching fellowships and is the author of four books\, including the best-seller “The Search for God at Harvard.”
