Help Those Affected by Surfside Building Collapse

Like you, we are incredibly saddened by the deadly collapse of the Champlain Towers building in Surfside, near Miami Beach.

We are in close contact with the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, who has asked for our community’s assistance to fuel their relief efforts.
Additionally, Jewish Volunteer Center and Alpert Jewish Family Service are coordinating with our Miami counterparts and are ready to support social services and volunteer needs.

Our emergency relief fund is supporting Miami’s efforts. If you are able to help, 100 percent of your contribution will provide:

Emergency Funding for Families and Individuals – Financial assistance will help people affected with their short- and long-term needs.

Housing Assistance – Efforts are being made to help individuals and families who have been displaced and who require assistance in securing immediate and longer-term housing solutions.

Crisis Counseling and Social Services – Emotional trauma support and Miami’s community helpline are available for those affected to access services. If someone you know requires support, please suggest that they call 2-1-1.

Chaplaincy Services – Members of the clergy are on site at the Surfside Community Center. If you know someone in the Surfside area who wants to reach a chaplain, email rabbiklein@gmjf.org.

Sadly, we know that there may be families who require help arranging funeral and burial services for loved ones in the days ahead. Federation is ready to provide assistance as necessary as this tragedy continues to unfold.

Thank you for your unwavering commitment to always being there for those in need.
