Educators who attend this conference will:

  • Discuss the relevance and potential challenges of raising conversations about race and the history of racism within Jewish educational contexts.
  • Develop a framework for facilitating respectful classroom discussions and activities on topics of race in a way that invites personal reflection and critical analysis.
  • Identify themes of bias and stereotyping that connect current issues of race and racism with contemporary examples of antisemitism.

Facing History and Ourselves is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to engage students in an examination of racism, prejudice and antisemitism. The organization provides training, coaching, and resources to educators around the globe which help them connect Jewish sources to historical and contemporary issues.
