Hope Silverman

Hope Silverman is a strategic and deeply committed community leader who has strengthened Jewish life in the Palm Beaches with her beloved kindness, sense of humor and boundless optimism. As Board Chair of Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County from 2020 to 2022, Hope helped shape and implement our community’s strategy during the pandemic and at a time of immense population growth.

Hope serves on the Board of Trustees for Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA). Locally, she is the Women’s Philanthropy Major Gifts Chair and a member of Federation’s Executive Committee, BallenIsles Campaign Committee, Campaign for the Future Cabinet and Prime Minister’s Council. Hope established a Forever Lion of Judah Endowment, and she and her husband Gene are founding Community Visionaries.

Hope’s 20 years of service to the Jewish community of the Palm Beaches includes serving as Federation’s Campaign Chair and Women’s Philanthropy Board Chair and Campaign Chair, as well as on the boards of Alpert Jewish Family Service, the Commission for Jewish Education, inSIGHT through Education, the Leadership Council of Herizon (formerly Jewish Women’s Foundation), JFNA’s National Women’s Philanthropy, the National Council for Jewish Women and Jewish Federation of Metro Detroit.

In recognition of Hope’s exceptional leadership as Board Chair, and her incredibly strong fundraising, Federation established the Hope Silverman Campaigner of the Year Award. Additionally, Hope received the 2019 Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland Award from JFNA honoring extraordinary women who set a high standard for philanthropy and volunteerism.

Hope and Gene have been married for 57 years and have two daughters and three grandchildren.
