Of all the challenges faced by the Jewish community of Palm Beach County, none is more urgent than ensuring the safety and security of community members. Our local Jewish community is under attack – and we must act quickly, strategically and collaboratively to confront hatred of the Jewish people head-on.

According to recently published reports on Florida by the FBI and ADL:

Palm Beach County has the most antisemitic incidents of all Florida counties.

Florida is ranked fourth highest for antisemitic incidents in the United States.

Antisemitic hate crimes accounted for 80% of the religiously motivated crimes in Florida.

The Palm Beach Center to Combat Antisemitism & Hatred (PBC), launched in May 2023, expands and amplifies Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County’s longstanding leadership role addressing antisemitism by combining legislative muscle and community security initiatives with leadership and outreach programs that build relationships with all local residents.

The Palm Beach Center significantly impacts and influences the Jewish and general Palm Beach communities. Our initial work focuses on two time-tested priorities:

Strengthen Community Security

We work to strengthen communal safety and security by expanding our capacity to meet increased antisemitic threats and attacks. We work tirelessly with law enforcement, the Community Security Service, Secure Community Network, and our local J-Secure Community Security Program so Jews can live openly and securely.

Building Relationships

Fighting hatred of Jews is not the Jewish community’s responsibility alone. Knowing Jews is a vital step to combat antisemitism. To scale our effort, we also seek to foster strategic relationships with influential, respected leaders who will stand up and publicly speak out against hatred of the Jewish people.
