{"id":14368,"date":"2023-05-25T04:38:05","date_gmt":"2023-05-25T08:38:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/?p=14368"},"modified":"2023-05-25T17:17:53","modified_gmt":"2023-05-25T21:17:53","slug":"emerging-leadership-program-donor-advised-fund-daf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/2023\/05\/25\/emerging-leadership-program-donor-advised-fund-daf\/","title":{"rendered":"EMERGING LEADERSHIP PROGRAM DONOR ADVISED FUND (DAF)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 24px; font-family: ITCAvantGardeStd-Bk;\">Federation\u2019s Emerging Leadership Program (ELP) is leading positive change for children and teens locally and in Israel.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-14377\" src=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/WEB_full-group.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"251\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Donors to <a href=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/index.php\/emerging-leadership-program-2\/\">ELP<\/a>&#8216;s Donor Advised Fund, established in 2018-2019, have contributed to several causes and improved the lives of so many.<\/p>\n<p>Scroll down to read a few of the incredible success stories, then reach out to Federation\u2019s Director of Emerging Leadership to learn more about the <a href=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/ELP_DAF_explainer_10.12.22.pdf\">ELP Fund<\/a>, make a contribution or serve on the ELP Donor Advised Fund Advisory Committee, and choose how these urgently needed funds are allocated.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-14378 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/WEB-Hospitality-House.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"216\" height=\"251\" \/>The ELP fund provided the scholarships for two local teens to join 22 of their peers for Project Tikvah, a program of Federation\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/jti-home-21\/\">Jewish Teen Initiative<\/a> (JTI) and <a href=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/volunteer\/\">Jewish Volunteer Center<\/a>. This transformative service learning project brought the two dozen teens to Nashville to learn about the city\u2019s rich culture and to lead impactful volunteer projects for those in need, such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>packing 5,500 meals for under-served and food-insecure families at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee<\/li>\n<li>writing dozens of letters of encouragement, packing toiletry bags and setting up rooms for people staying at Hospitality House of Nashville &#8211; a nonprofit that provides lodging, meals and other support services for patients at Nashville-area hospitals and their caregivers<\/li>\n<li>learning about the local Jewish community from Jewish Federation of Nashville and the Gordon Jewish Community Center<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can read media coverage about the trip <a href=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Project-Tikvah_PB-Post_June20_2019.pdf\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Project-Tikvah_JewishVoice_July2019.pdf\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-14379 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/web-Matnas-computer-lab.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"288\" height=\"186\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Donors to the fund also made it possible for dozens of students in Federation\u2019s Israel partnership region of TZAHAR (Tzfat, Hatzor HaGlilit and Rosh Pina) to thrive in their school work. The funds covered the cost of several laptop computers, educational computer programs and time for educators to provide individualized attention at the Matnas Computer Lab.
