All educators in Jewish schools are invited to an informative discussion on freshening up your classroom for Tu B\u2019Shvat (Jewish New Year of Trees). Learn about new, relevant and innovative methods and activities to offer your students, including how to lead a lively Tu B\u2019Shvat seder. Hear insight from educational leaders and experts, and take part in a unique celebration of the holiday.<\/span><\/p>\n

Educators who participate will earn 4.5 in-service hours.<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

About the Speakers<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Professor Kenneth Stein<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

For more than four decades, Professor Kenneth Stein has taught contemporary Middle Eastern history, political science, and Israeli studies at Emory University. He founded the Emory Institute for the Study of Modern Israel, the first academic center of its kind in the U.S. Author of multiple books on the history and politics in Israel, his book Heroic Diplomacy,<\/em> about the negotiating process in the 1970s, remains a standard for the study of the Sadat \u2013 Begin relationship.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Zohar Vloski\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Zohar Vloski is an education-focused Israel Emissary for KKL-JNF in Florida with expertise in the areas of Jewish and Zionist identity, Holocaust memorialization, Jewish leadership and culture, and the values and legacy of the IDF. He holds a master’s degree in law (LL.M) from Bar Ilan University, as well as bachelor\u2019s degrees in law and Israeli studies, and is a graduate of The Command and Staff College of the IDF. Zohar retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the IDF, where he as a commander of education units, a key driver of the military\u2019s educational systems, and a leader in connecting the Birthright Israel program to Israeli soldiers. He is also a certified tour guide for Israel\u2019s Ministry of Tourism in Israel and for Yad Vashem to Poland.<\/span><\/p>\n
