This award honors companies with strong performance and innovation in the nonprofit sector, plus meaningful community involvement.

Federation President & CEO Michael Hoffman accepted this recognition at an awards dinner in Miami by saying, “This honor is a testament to the dedication, compassion and generosity of thousands of community members in Jewish Palm Beach. It is because of these community members that we are able to accomplish so much and change so many lives for the better.” He went on to thank community members for fueling Federation’s work every day to care for people in need and build a bright Jewish future.

This award comes as Federation surpassed its annual fundraising goal for the year, distributing $20 million to 40 partner agencies and programs who make a difference locally, regionally, and nationally. It also recognized volunteer service projects, leadership development programs, and philanthropic vehicles which have engaged thousands of community members. Beyond direct financial support and leadership, Federation has been able to help secure considerable public funding for partners from national and state agencies. Through advocacy efforts, local Jewish organizations have received grant funding to bolster security, enhanced mental health programs, expanded services for Holocaust survivors, and maintained operations during the volatile economic conditions of the past two years.

As South Florida has made headlines for seeing an influx of new residents and businesses, Federation has been at the forefront of welcoming these newcomers and helping them find meaningful connections in Jewish Palm Beach.

Federation President & CEO Michael Hoffman, center, receiving the South Florida Business Journal Award on behalf of Federation at an event in April 2022.

All of this is done in the spirit of the core Jewish value which guides Federation’s work every day: “Kol yisrael arevim zeh b’zeh.” This translates to: The entire Jewish people is responsible for one another.

As our Jewish community’s “city hall,” Federation is well-positioned to be responsive to the immediate needs of people who are struggling—while helping people stay connected with their Jewish community. Through donor support, tens of thousands of people participated in Jewish life, received the care they needed to overcome challenges and stepped forward to help their neighbors. None of this would be possible without the work of more than 300 volunteer leaders who currently serve on Federation’s Board, committees, task forces and councils. These individuals, along with thousands of volunteers, are a crucial part of achieving Federation’s mission.

To learn more about your impact go to jewishpb.org/impact or contact us at 561.478.0700

Federation Named 2022 Nonprofit of the Year by South Florida Business Journal June 2022 The South Florida Business Journal recently named Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County a special
+ Read More

[23,1

post-29578","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-impact","category-uncategorized
["GET
