{"id":30649,"date":"2022-08-16T14:28:35","date_gmt":"2022-08-16T18:28:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/?p=30649"},"modified":"2022-08-17T13:01:17","modified_gmt":"2022-08-17T17:01:17","slug":"campaign-close-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/2022\/08\/16\/campaign-close-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"GENEROSITY AND VOLUNTEERISM FUELED FEDERATION&#8217;S 2022 CAMPAIGN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-30651\" src=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/packing_655x400.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"790\" height=\"482\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-family: ITCAvantGardeStd-Bk;\"><strong>Historic Campaign Sees $42 million Contributed to Jewish Federation for Addressing Increased Community Needs<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>August 12, 2022<\/p>\n<p>Federation President and CEO, Michael Hoffman, announced that the community has contributed an outstanding total of <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>$42 million to a combination of its 2022 Annual Campaign, new endowments through the <\/strong><strong>Jewish Community Foundation, and targeted donations to partner organizations, Federation programs and emergency campaigns<\/strong><\/span>. This incredible total comes as Federation enters its 60<sup>th<\/sup> year, and the Jewish community of the Palm Beaches experiences immense population growth and emerges as one of the largest and fastest growing in North America.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"color: #005480;\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 21px;\">\u201cOur success this past year is about more than fundraising, it\u2019s about the <\/span><\/em><em><span style=\"font-size: 21px;\">strength of this Jewish community,\u201d shared Hoffman. \u201cIt\u2019s about all of us coming together when things are at their most difficult. It\u2019s about how we are there for one another \u2013 even to help improve the lives of people we may never meet.\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>The $42 million included:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$18 million to Federation\u2019s Annual Campaign (an exciting increase of 13 percent from just five years ago). $8.6 million was contributed through our inclusive Women\u2019s Philanthropy program.<\/li>\n<li>$15.6 million in new endowment commitments and other contributions to our Jewish Community Foundation, some of which are confirmed future promises, secure our community forever \u2013 and give us a greater day-to-day impact on the people we serve.<\/li>\n<li>$8.2 million targeted by donors for our partners and programs, including emergency relief efforts for Ukraine and Surfside and corporate sponsorships.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Locally, Federation and its partners have increased emotional counseling as mental health challenges have grown more prevalent; provided scholarships and financial aid for families facing rising costs; delivered thousands of meals to homebound seniors and those facing food insecurity; provided stellar Jewish learning experiences to people of all ages and continue to educate and advocate against antisemitism and all forms of hatred while providing security resources for synagogues, schools and other Jewish community institutions.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-30652 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Hanukkah-2021_web.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"614\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One of the largest nonprofits in Palm Beach County, Federation is considered the Jewish community\u2019s central philanthropic organization and \u201ccity hall.\u201d Federation anticipated this milestone year of giving during the organization\u2019s annual meeting in May. Hoffman credited the leadership of outgoing Board Chair, Hope Silverman, as well as Brian Seymour, Campaign Chair, Ronda Starr, Women\u2019s Philanthropy Campaign Chair, and Joel Yudenfreund, Jewish Community Foundation chair for their leadership in overseeing Federation\u2019s fundraising efforts in 2022. Silverman, Seymour and Starr completed their terms of service at the annual meeting.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Also during the meeting, Federation welcomed <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Susan Shulman Pertnoy as its new Board Chair<\/strong><\/span>, and the following individuals to its <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>2022-2023<\/strong> <strong>Board of Directors:<\/strong><\/span> Rick Baer, Donald Berg, Richard N.
