Loring Donor Recognition Center in West Palm Beach

Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County recently announced that two of the most generous donors to the Jewish Palm Beach community, Vicki and Arthur S. Loring, have made a $10 million legacy gift to address the community’s most critical needs – locally and around the world.

The Lorings’ gift powerfully exemplifies the vast reach and holistic vision of Federation to meaningfully address the broad spectrum of needs facing the Jewish community as the Palm Beaches emerges as one of North America’s fastest-growing and largest Jewish communities and centers of Jewish life.

The remarkable gift includes a six-figure contribution for Today to Federation’s Annual Campaign, a multi-year commitment for Tomorrow that continues their annual giving over several years, and a commitment Forever through endowments to permanently support the Annual Campaign and causes that care for vulnerable people worldwide. This includes providing care for seniors locally through Federation’s partner organizations, such as Kramer Senior Services (a subsidiary of MorseLife Health System), as well as seniors in Israel and beyond through Federation’s global partner organizations.

We care deeply about making certain that seniors and anyone experiencing hunger issues or homelessness can receive a warm, nourishing meal and are provided with resources to live their lives with dignity and in comfort. We are making this gift in perpetuity to Federation to ensure the programs we created have a lasting effect on the community. We feel confident that our support will forever be there for all who are in need in the Palm Beaches, in Israel and around the world.

-Vicki & Arthur S. Loring Donor Recognition Center, a cutting-edge technological display celebrating our community’s leaders and donors. The center is located at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Building in West Palm Beach, Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County’s headquarters, widely considered the Jewish community’s “City Hall.”

The Lorings’ gift serves among the lead commitments to Campaign for the Future, the largest campaign in the history of Jewish Palm Beach. This comprehensive fundraising campaign seeks to grow annual fundraising, increase the number of multi-year pledges, and create new endowments to meet the needs of our growing community – Today, Tomorrow, and Forever. The campaign integrates many forms of giving, including the Annual Campaign and Targeted Giving—both to support our community’s short-term needs of Today and Tomorrow, and long-term needs through endowments at Federation’s William A. Meyer Jewish Community Foundation.

To discuss your involvement in this bold effort, contact your Federation representative or Matt Kernkraut, Chief Development Officer, at 561.242.6640 or matthew.kernkraut@jewishpalmbeach.org.

space
About Vicki & Arthur S. Loring

The Lorings, longtime residents of Palm Beach County currently living in West Palm Beach, have long been a vibrant, notable and active presence in the Jewish community.

Arthur served two terms as Federation’s Board Chair, from 2008 to 2010, and 2014 to 2015. He has also served in other notable positions at Federation and in the community, including serving as the current President of MorseLife Foundation and Past President MorseLife, and past Chair of AIPAC in Palm Beach County. In 2015, Arthur was also the first community leader to receive the prestigious Jeanne Levy Community Leadership Award, Federation’s highest honor that annually recognizes individuals in the Palm Beaches who exemplify a spirit of giving, inspire Jewish values and demonstrate outstanding leadership.

Arthur grew up in the town of Williamsburg, Virginia, home to a small Jewish community. His parents became leaders, and Arthur had the city’s first Bar Mitzvah in The Wren Chapel at The College of William and Mary. It was then his parents decided Williamsburg needed a synagogue, and they served as the catalysts to bring that vision to reality. During his professional career, Arthur spent 25 years at Fidelity Management & Research Company, the umbrella entity for various mutual funds and investment/financial services, where he rose through the ranks to become one of its top executives.

From their early days of involvement in the Jewish community, Vicki’s passion for supporting seniors has been evident. Vicki started a Thanksgiving luncheon for isolated seniors in the Palm Beaches’ Jewish community, a program that became so successful it expanded to include luncheons for Hanukkah and Purim, with our local Federation providing transportation for homebound guests to attend. She also started the MorseLife breakfast and lunch program, which included meal deliveries to seniors throughout the community. Vicki is a Lion of Judah, a giving and recognition program through Federations across North America, representing the most dynamic philanthropic Jewish women in the world.

In their honor, Federation announced the cutting-edge Vicki & Arthur S.
