Distinguished community leader Barry S. Berg was announced as the Federation\u2019s new Board Chair for a two-year term, succeeding Board Chair Susan Shulman Pertnoy.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"lts_quote_wrap  \"><div class=\"lts_quote\"><span style=\"font-family: ITCAvantGardeStd-Bk;\">\u201cDespite facing significant challenges locally and globally this past year, and the troubling rise in antisemitism, there is still much to celebrate as Jewish Palm Beach launches new initiatives to connect people to Jewish life,\u201d shared Michael Hoffman, President and CEO of Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County. \u201cI\u2019m immensely grateful for Barry Berg\u2019s leadership as we look ahead and have the utmost confidence for a vibrant today, tomorrow and forever.\u201d<\/span><\/div><div class=\"lts_quote_author\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"\">-Michael Hoffman, President and CEO<\/a><\/div><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: ITCAvantGardeStd-Bk; color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-55099 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Mark-Levy-announcing-SusanAward-600px.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"442\" height=\"232\" \/>During the event, guests celebrated Susan Shulman Pertnoy for her significant accomplishments as Federation\u2019s Board Chair from 2022 to 2024. Mark F. Levy and Lynn Levy Peseckis, two of Federation\u2019s most devoted leaders, surprised Pertnoy with the announcement that she will be the recipient of the 2024-25 Jeanne Levy Community Leadership Award, the Federation\u2019s highest honor. The award is named for the mother of Levy and Peseckis, who served as a founder and matriarch of the Palm Beaches\u2019 Jewish community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: ITCAvantGardeStd-Bk; color: #000000;\">Additional new leadership announcements for Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: ITCAvantGardeStd-Bk; color: #000000;\">Ronda Starr,<em> Development and Campaign Chair<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: ITCAvantGardeStd-Bk; color: #000000;\">Marilyn Comiter, <em>Women\u2019s Philanthropy Board Chair<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: ITCAvantGardeStd-Bk; color: #000000;\">Patti Lehrhoff, <em>Women\u2019s Philanthropy Campaign Chair<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: ITCAvantGardeStd-Bk; color: #000000;\">Lynn Levy Peseckis, <em>Community Strategy and Planning Chair<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: ITCAvantGardeStd-Bk; color: #000000;\">Brett Sandala, <em>Friedman Commission for Jewish Education (CJE) Chair<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"font-family: ITCAvantGardeStd-Bk; color: #000000;\">Jason DelGrosso, <em>Emerging Leadership Program (ELP) Chair<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: ITCAvantGardeStd-Bk; color: #000000;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-55105 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Ken-Tillman-400px.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"363\" height=\"228\" \/>Ken Tillman<\/strong>, an active leader, and volunteer fundraiser for decades, received the <strong>Hope Silverman Campaigner of the Year Award<\/strong>. This annual award celebrates an individual who advances Federation\u2019s mission, demonstrates leadership, empowers philanthropy and serves as a role model to others. In addition to his longtime role as a campaign ambassador for Federation and several other Jewish organizations, Tillman was honored for inspiring several of his neighbors to contribute to Federation\u2019s Israel Terror Relief Fund following the events of October 7.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: ITCAvantGardeStd-Bk; color: #000000;\">Community leaders <strong>Barri Litt-White<\/strong> and<strong> Jason Kalisman<\/strong> received the <strong>Robert S. and Ceil N. Levy Young Leadership Award<\/strong> for their dedication to the Jewish community. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-55102 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/600px-Jason-Kalisman-and-Barri-Litt-White-135_C6397.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"235\" height=\"199\" \/>The award is given annually to two exceptional community members under the age of 45 who have demonstrated continued service to Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, as well as potential for future leadership roles. Litt-White received the award for her service on the Mandel JCC Board of Directors, as Chair of the Mandel JCC Audit Committee, for graduating from Federation\u2019s Mandel Leadership Institute, and for serving as a connector to Jewish families in the Boynton Beach area. Kalisman was honored for his involvement with Federation\u2019s Palm Beach Center to Combat Antisemitism &amp;Hatred and for his efforts that led to more than $3 million in contributions to Federation\u2019s Israel Terror Relief Fund.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: ITCAvantGardeStd-Bk; color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-55110 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/sandy-and-ben.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"299\" height=\"199\" \/> <\/span><span style=\"font-family: ITCAvantGardeStd-Bk; color: #000000;\"><strong>Federation\u2019s awards for Jewish educators<\/strong> were given to <strong>Sandy Wilensky<\/strong>, director of Temple Beth Torah\u2019s Leonie Arguetty Preschool, and to 15-year-old <strong>Benjamin Bagatell<\/strong>, a volunteer classroom aide at Temple Israel.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: ITCAvantGardeStd-Bk; color: #000000;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-55108 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/Roshfeld-and-Schneider-600px.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"377\" height=\"198\" \/>Shannon Schneider<\/strong>, Federation\u2019s Accounting Manager, received the prestigious <strong>Debbi Roshfeld Professional Leadership Award<\/strong>.
