Our community contributed more than $10 million to our emergency efforts. Together, Federations have collectively contributed more than $800 million to this effort, serving pillar of unwavering support since October 7 and the ensuing war. Below are highlights of what this work has accomplished as of August 2024:<br \/>\n<\/div><br \/>\n<div class=\"col2 shortcol  \" data-width=\"\" ><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>36,910 evacuees<\/strong><\/span> provided with shelter<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>285,486 Israelis<\/strong><\/span> received essential food assistance<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>2 million hot meals<\/strong><\/span> have been served<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>164,736 Israelis<\/strong><\/span> received packages with basic needs \u2013 food, clothing and more<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>44 hospitals<\/strong><\/span> and rehabilitation centers received medical equipment and supplies<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>406,816 Israelis<\/strong><\/span> received mental health support<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>61,715 Israelis<\/strong><\/span> helped by economic relief and recovery programs<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>481 business<\/strong><\/span> have received loans<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><\/p>\n<div class=\"lts_blocks lts_blocks_layout2  \"><br \/>\n<div class=\"lts_block  lt_rounded  \" style=\"background:#ffffff;color:#999999;\"><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Jewish Palm Beach\u2019s Impact in Israel<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Federation is being strategic with allocations from the Israel Terror Relief Fund (ITRF) as the needs in our Partnership region continue to grow as a result of the potential escalation in the north. Below is a comprehensive list of all the allocations and support as of August 2024.<\/div><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"lts_block  lt_rounded  \" style=\"background:#ffffff;color:#999999;\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-58785 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/chart-1-1220x760.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"311\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/chart-1-1220x760.jpg 1220w, https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/chart-1-1605x1000.jpg 1605w, https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/chart-1-768x479.jpg 768w, https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/chart-1-1536x957.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/chart-1-2048x1276.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><\/div><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">The following identifies the breakdown of where Federation\u2019s initial ITRF allocation to Jewish Federations of North America&#8217;s (JFNA) collective effort went to support:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Lifeline Services (42.5%)<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 Food, clothing, financial assistance, and medicines as well as spiritual care<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Economic Relief and Recovery (22.4%)<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 Supports families who are grappling with income loss, as reserve soldiers answer the call to duty, and economic relief efforts for frontline communities small and medium-size businesses<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Mental Health and Trauma Relief (18.2%)<\/span> <\/strong>\u2013 Addresses the physical, psychological, and emotional wellbeing of affected Israelis. This includes allocations made to medical facilities and hospitals.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Community Resilience and Rebuilding (16.9%)<\/span><\/strong> \u2013 Helps to enable people to return to their homes and rebuild their communities and will become a major focus of JFNA\u2019s efforts in the coming months<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Other (less than 1%)<\/span> <\/strong>\u2013 Support for communities under fire and for new <em>olim<\/em> (immigrants) living in absorption centers through evacuations, temporary housing, children\u2019s activities and increased security.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><br \/>\nSupport for our Partnership Region of TZAHAR<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><div class=\"lts_blocks lts_blocks_layout2  \"><br \/>\n<div class=\"lts_block  lt_rounded  \" style=\"background:#ffffff;color:#999999;\">Comprised of the cities Tzfat, Hatzor HaGlilit and Rosh Pina, Israel\u2019s TZAHAR region and Jewish Palm Beach have been connected through a partnership for more than three decades. In addition to our local community\u2019s support of relief efforts across Israel, we are providing specialized support to our extended family, which is located just miles from the Lebanese border and has been under consistent rocketfire:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>New bomb shelters <\/strong><\/span>in Tzfat and Hatzor HaGlilit<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Water trolleys to combat fires <\/strong><\/span>caused by missile attacks in Tzfat<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Emergency equipment <\/strong><\/span>for more than 160 first responders throughout the region<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Security cameras <\/strong><\/span>to provide extra layers of protection in Tzfat<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Respite programs for evacuated families<\/span> <\/strong>and Shabbat meals for soldiers serving in the region<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #003366;\">Games and educational materials for children<\/span> <\/strong>while schools or closed or extended times are needed in bomb shelters<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div><\/p>\n<div class=\"lts_block  lt_rounded  \" style=\"background:#ffffff;color:#999999;\"><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Additionally, we have helped to distribute funding from the entire Federation system of TZAHAR to support the greatest area of needs in TZAHAR and launch new projects in our region:<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-58786 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/chart-2-1220x788.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"506\" height=\"327\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/chart-2-1220x788.jpg 1220w, https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/chart-2-1548x1000.jpg 1548w, https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/chart-2-768x496.jpg 768w, https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/chart-2-1536x993.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/jewishpb.org\/fed\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/chart-2-2048x1323.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 506px) 100vw, 506px\" \/><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><\/div>\n<p><\/div><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong>Donor Directed Gifts<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Federation offers donors the opportunity to targeted their gifts through us to programs and organizations aligned with our mission. To date, community members have contributed $3.4 million in targeted giving through our Israel relief efforts. Below is a list of all the organizations supported by these donations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><div class=\"col2 shortcol  \" data-width=\"\" ><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Afikim Family Enrichment Centers<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Afikim, is a network of Family Enrichment Centers in Israel, that is dedicated to helping children and parents of low-income families break out of the bonds of poverty by giving them the tools they need to become financially independent, well-adjusted, and productive individuals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Friends of the IDF (FIDF)<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Friends of the IDF is the sole organization authorized to collect charitable donations on behalf of the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces across the United States of America. FIDF has provided the IDF with medical equipment and supplies, search and rescue equipment, emergency lone solider support, emergency well-being support, and wounded solider and bereaved family support.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Fund for Victims of Terror \u2013 The Jewish Agency<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">The Jewish Agency\u2019s Fund for Victims of Terror has been providing immediate financial assistance to victims and their families, arriving with checks personally delivered within 48 hours of an attack and following up with critically needed long term rehabilitative support.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">JDC<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">JDC is caring for those who have no one else to turn to \u2013 vulnerable seniors, people with disabilities, children and young adults at risk, families in financial distress, and the unemployed. Support enables JDC to respond to the unique needs of these special populations as well as the needs of the southern communities they directly work with. JDC is also providing training and counseling to frontline professionals to ensure they have the support they need to continue their important work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Kfar Aza<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Kibbutz in Southern Israel that was devastated by Hamas terrorist on Oct. 7, 2023<\/span><br \/>\n<\/div><div class=\"col2 shortcol  \" data-width=\"\" ><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Kfar Hanassi<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Kfar Hanassi is a kibbutz in northern Israel that has been affected by rocket attacks from Lebanon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Soroka Medical Center<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Soroka Medical Center is the only major medical center in Israel\u2019s south and stands at the forefront of the battle to save the lives of Israel\u2019s wounded. After the attacks on Oct. 7<sup>th<\/sup>, Soroka&#8217;s Francis and Nathan Kirsh Trauma Center and Emergency Department have tirelessly treated over 1,400 wounded patients, with a significant number in critical condition (800 patients within the first 24 hours).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Tzfat Kabbalah Center (Rabbi Eyal Riess)<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">Relief projects including weekly programs for evacuated families and Shabbat meals for soldiers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399;\">United Hatzalah<\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14px;\">United Hatzalah is a community-based volunteer emergency medical service (EMS) operating across Israel. It has mobilized all 7,000 of its volunteers and dispatched over 120 rescue vehicles to Israel&#8217;s southern region.
