Empowering Jewish Education in the Palm Beaches

Friedman CJE’s Professional Development and School Services Department collaborates with community members of all ages to engage in tailored Jewish learning experiences. We partner with schools and community leaders to develop innovative models of Jewish education for all students and families in the Palm Beaches.

Our services include leadership training for school principals, teachers and educational leaders. Additionally, we evaluate teachers to ensure best practices in Jewish day schools, synagogue schools and preschools.

Professional Development

Appoint for yourself a teacher and acquire for yourself a companion and judge all men with the scale weighted in his favor. Joshua ben Perahiah, Pirkei Avot 1

Meaning:

  • Find yourself a teacher to teach you Torah;
  • Find yourself a friend;
  • Have a positive attitude in your dealings with others.

Each year the CJE in collaboration with school directors organizes and facilitates a professional development conference where teachers in congregational schools gather to deepen their teaching skills.

In addition, our community organizes and hosts an annual Jewish Early Childhood conference for teachers in Jewish preschools.

The CJE’s program focuses on Israel education and a teacher-to-teacher connection with teachers and students in TZAHAR, our community’s sister region in Israel.

The Early Childhood Educators Council and the Educators’ Council are forums for leaders in Jewish education to advocate for, plan, organize and implement programs and activities that promote and improve the quality of all Jewish schools in the Palm Beaches.

We provide several initiatives for our community’s Jewish schools to connect and consult with nationally acclaimed Jewish Educational organizations.

CJE provides personalized professional development for educators, individual consultation with school directors and observation and evaluation services.

CJE supports schools with resources to help schools create a welcoming, meaningful Jewish education for all students and presents various opportunities throughout the year to educators for their own professional growth.

CJE also organizes the Anita and Robert Naftaly Day of Awareness, which brings together community members to learn, share and discuss ways to create a more welcoming community in the Palm Beaches.
