Today, Jewish Palm Beach and the global Jewish community breathe a collective sigh of relief as Israel welcomes home the remaining hostages, reuniting them with their loved ones. As we celebrate their return, our hearts remain with the grieving families of IDF soldiers and civilians who mourn lives lost. We especially hold in our thoughts those still awaiting the return of their loved ones’ remains for a dignified burial after their brutal murder and captivity by Hamas. May their memory be a blessing.
We watch with cautious optimism as the details of the ceasefire continue to unfold. Israel has begun its withdrawal from parts of Gaza and the release of approximately 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. At the same time, the United States and its international partners are actively engaged in delivering humanitarian aid and support efforts to stabilize the region, even as violence continues to flare.

Achieving lasting peace will require steadfast leadership and strong international cooperation. Our community deeply values the pivotal role President Trump, his administration, and U. S. diplomacy have played in advancing this historic agreement. We urge all parties to honor their commitments and lay the groundwork for a future rooted in safety and hope for everyone affected by this conflict.
Since October 7, 2023, Jewish Federation has responded to urgent needs and supported long-term recovery efforts. Through the continued leadership and generosity of Jewish Palm Beach, our community stands in steadfast solidarity with the people of Israel. Together, we are helping families cope with trauma, delivering vital aid, rebuilding communities, and assisting small businesses in their recovery.
Throughout these challenging times, we have witnessed the extraordinary resilience of both the Israeli people and our community here in Palm Beach County. With shared determination, we are ensuring that the people of Israel receive the care and resources they need in crisis or peace, now and in the future.
This moment is one of profound duality, a time of both joy and sorrow for the families directly impacted, for Israel, and for global Jewish peoplehood. As we rejoice in the reunions and mourn the irreparable losses, our collective spirit is unified by resilience and hope. We stand united in pursuit of a future where today’s fragile peace gives rise to collective healing, peaceful coexistence, and enduring hope.
