Thanksgiving Food Drive<\/span><\/strong><\/span>

Join Kohl JVC, in partnership with J-TEEN at Mandel JCC and National Junior Honor Society students at Arthur I. Meyer Jewish Preparatory School, in honoring the Jewish value of Ha\u2019achalat Re\u2019evim<\/em> (feeding the hungry) by helping to ensure that local families have a hearty, healthy and festive Thanksgiving meal.<\/span><\/p>\n

What to donate?<\/strong> Frozen turkeys and non-perishable food are requested.<\/span>
\nDonations will support Alpert Jewish Family Service, Place of Hope and The Soup Kitchen.

Bring the whole family as Kohl JVC teams up with PJ Library\u00ae, Temple Israel and Temple Beth El to honor the Jewish value of Kehillah<\/em> (community) for a family mitzvah project that will provide Thanksgiving meals to local families in need. Register online by Friday, November 14, then shop with your family or loved ones using this shopping list.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Bring your donations with you to Temple Beth El on Sunday, November 23 between 10 a.m. \u2013 12 p.m., where we will assemble and decorate Thanksgiving meal baskets.<\/span><\/p>\n

Donations will support Alpert Jewish Family Service, Place of Hope and The Soup Kitchen.

\nDuring Birds & Baskets, you can also visit the Simon Wiesenthal Center\u2019s Mobile Museums of Tolerance, the first mobile program dedicated to combating antisemitism, racism and all forms of hate, which will be parked outside.<\/span><\/p>\n

They\u2019ll be refurbished by the nonprofit, Jack the Bike Man, and given to students, immigrant families and individuals in need, turning a simple bike into a gift of freedom, dignity and opportunity.<\/span><\/p>\n

Honor the Jewish value V\u2019shinantam L\u2019vanecha<\/em> (and you shall teach your children) by spending a morning sharing the magic of books by reading to children in a local Palm Beach County school. In a new partnership with Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County\u2019s Read With Me! program, volunteers will read in small groups in kindergarten classrooms at one of nine area schools.
\n<\/span>Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.<\/span> <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
