Will you step forward to help people in the Bahamas whose lives have been devastated by Hurricane Dorian?

You’ve seen the heartbreaking news reports: Several lives have been lost or are missing. Thousands more are without homes. Nearly everyone is struggling to access even the most basic needs.

During times of disaster, our community joins together to care for the vulnerable. This is a reflection of one of our core Jewish values, tikkun olam (repair the world). Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County is teaming up with a network of partners to support those in need in the Bahamas and help them recover from this devastating storm.

We are grateful that our local community has been spared the most devastating effects of Hurricane Dorian.

Thank you to the hundreds of community members who donated urgently needed goods for people in need in the Bahamas through Jewish Volunteer Center’s Hurricane Dorian Supply Drive.

Supply donations are no longer being accepted. We’d like to recognize the extraordinary partnership and leadership of the following community partners who served as collection sites for the supply drive:

Help to restore and rebuild by contributing to Federation’s Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund.

100 percent of your contribution to Federation’s Hurricane Dorian Relief Fund will help those in need in the Bahamas:

• Emergency rescue efforts for those stranded or in danger
• Urgently needed basics, including shelter, food and medicine
• Long-term rebuilding and cleanup needs

Donations to the fund will be distributed by our partners to address the most urgent needs of hurricane victims in the Bahamas.
