MOSAIC TV NEWS MAGAZINE RETURNS FOR 43RD SEASON IN THE PALM BEACHES

Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County’s weekly TV news magazine exploring timely issues affecting the local and global Jewish communities, mosaic will debut its 43rd season on January 23 on a new station and timeslot: WPBF 25 (our local ABC affiliate) at 11:30 a.m. on Sundays. The show is produced by Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, providing viewers exclusive interviews with some of the Jewish world’s most notable figures. The season runs through April 24, 2022.
The show is hosted by community leader, Susan Shulman Pertnoy. Pertnoy’s mother Barbara Kay, was mosaic’s founder and host for four decades before passing away in 2019. The show continues to address the most critical issues and causes in the Jewish community, including the recent rise of antisemitism, the dramatic growth of the Jewish community of the Palm Beaches, and explorations of how the pandemic has impacted the Jewish people locally and abroad.
The season premiere on Sunday, January 23 features an interview with Michael Oren, one of the most influential Jews in the world and former Israeli Ambassador to the United States, who will discuss America’s problem confronting antisemitism and other urgent topics affecting the Jewish people around the world.
The 2022 season will also feature other notable interviews and topics, including:
- January 30th episode: “Coming to the Aid of our Global Jewish Family,” featuring an interview with Amira Ahronoviz, CEO of The Jewish Agency for Israel
- February 6th episode: Creating a Safer, More Informed Community that Stands Up to Hate,” featuring a vital discussion with Dr. Jonathan Schanzer, former terrorism finance analyst at the United States Department of the Treasury, and SVP for research at Foundation for Defense of Democracies.
- Other season highlights include conversations on how Israel is being brought to the Palm Beaches; the rise of mental and emotional health issues as well as food insecurity, and what is being done to support the suffering; new approaches to connecting Jewish college students on campuses; building bridges to non-Jewish faiths and communities, and more.
“As our community continues to rapidly grow, change and face unprecedented new realities, mosaic has become an even more valuable resource and connection point to some of the biggest issues in the Jewish and broader communities,” shared host Susan Shulman Pertnoy.
Over the years, the show has featured some of the world’s most prolific leaders, experts and changemakers, including Elie Wiesel, Larry King, Madeleine Albright, Andrea Mitchell, David Gregory, Ehud Barak, David Gergen, Ambassador Dan Shapiro, Natan Sharansky, Alan Dershowitz, Bret Stephens, Mo Rocca and dozens more politicians, journalists, luminaries and celebrities.
