Building Allies through Community Leaders Israel Study Tours
Community Leaders Take Action Through Israel Tours |
We are thrilled to share several exciting updates about the Palm Beach Center’s successful Community Leaders Israel Study Tours and how they have blossomed into transformational tools rallying our non-Jewish allies to stand by us in our collective fight against antisemitism.
Our third Community Leaders Israel Study Tour concluded Sept.22, with 12 influential non-Jewish leaders returning to Palm Beach County ready to implement plans to stand up for their Jewish neighbors and actively fight against antisemitism and hatred.
Elected officials from West Palm Beach, Boynton Beach and the School Board as well as senior leaders with Palm Beach Atlantic University and the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce were among local leaders who spent a week visiting the sites of the October 7 attacks (above photo), speaking with families of hostages and receiving geopolitical briefings from a former Israel Defense Forces intelligence officer.
Like participants from our first two study tours in February and June, these leaders of all faiths return to Palm Beach County equipped with knowledge and insight to fight antisemitism at home and encourage their neighbors and associates to stand with their Jewish neighbors.
A speaking event from the first “Dangers of Hate” talking tour, featuring participants of the Palm Beach Center’s first Community Influencers Israel Study Tour in February, was recognized earlier this month at the Florida Festivals and Events Association 2024 “SunSational” Awards.
“Confronting Hate: Insights from the Israeli Frontline” featured a panel discussion before more than 100 business leaders at the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce by non-Jewish tour participants of the first Israel study tour. The 2nd-place award in the Multi-Agency Program category shines another spotlight on the Center’s ongoing commitment to build bridges of understanding within the community.
