Friedman CJE’s Professional Development and School Services Department works with community members of all ages to participate in Jewish learning that matches their needs. We also work with schools and community leaders to work towards creating different, innovative models of Jewish education in the Palm Beaches.

We proudly provide leadership training for school principals, teachers and leaders involved in education. We evaluate teachers for best practices in Jewish day schools, synagogue schools and preschools.

When our teachers learn, our students learn, get excited and benefit!

  • CJE’s Professional Development & School Services department impacts approximately 1,600 students each year through its work with hundreds of teachers, principals and lay leaders at synagogues, preschools and day schools in the Greater Palm Beaches.
  • Each year the CJE in collaboration with school directors organizes and facilitates a professional development conference where teachers in congregational schools gather to deepen their teaching skills.
  • In addition, our community organizes and hosts an annual Jewish Early Childhood conference for teachers in Jewish preschools.
  • The “Summer Institute” is a professional development program held each June. The CJE’s “School Twinning” program uses interactive lessons to connect teachers and students in the Palm Beaches with teachers and students in TZAHAR, our community’s sister region in Israel.

  • CJE facilitates two professional Jewish networks. The Early Childhood Educators Council and the Educators’ Council are forums for leaders in Jewish education to advocate for, plan, organize, and implement programs and activities that promote and improve the quality of all of our Jewish schools in the Palm Beaches.
  • We provide several initiatives for our community’s Jewish schools to connect and consult with nationally-acclaimed Jewish Educational organizations.
  • CJE provides personalized professional development for educators, individual consultation with school directors and observation and evaluation services.
  • CJE supports schools with resources to help schools create an inclusive, meaningful Jewish education for all students.
