Hours: 15-20 hours/week
Position Summary:
As Temple B’nai Jacob Office Manager, you will be responsible for performing clerical tasks within an office
setting to support daily operations. Your duties include answering the phone, taking messages, sorting and
delivering mail to the appropriate person, sending out multiple emails, making electronic bank deposits,
charging, greeting visitors, and other tasks as needed.
Professional Requirements and Skills:
• Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Administrative Assistant or similar role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Publisher
• Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. phones and printers)
• Professional attitude and appearance
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
• Excellent organizational skills
• Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Customer service attitude
Essential Functions:
• Welcome members/guests and prospective members/guests by greeting them in person
• Answer and appropriately route incoming phone calls
• Respond to voicemails and emails
• Receive mail and other shipments, sort and route to the appropriate office staff
• Primary office support for outbound mail and other shipments
• Place supply order when requested by staff
• Charge credit cards, receive checks and cash, make electronic deposits
• Create event flyers and assist with bi-monthly newsletter
• Support additional duties and responsibilities as requested
Expectations:
• Be physically at reception desk during your scheduled hours; be friendly and welcoming
• Answer incoming phone calls
• Respond to voicemails & emails upon arrival
• Order supplies for office when requested
• Willingness to learn temple specific software
Schedule: Monday – Friday: 11:00am – 2:00pm
Pay Range: $18.00 – $20,00/ hr depending on skills and related work experience
