Join us for a Cantorial Concert about Jewish Folk Singers of the ’60s with Cantor Jodi Sufrin, Cantor Emerita, Temple Beth Elohim, Wellesley, MA and Cantor Roy Einhorn, Cantor Emeritus, Temple Israel, Boston MA. From the immigration of great numbers of Jews in the 1890s through the turbulent 1960s, Jews contributed richly to the American canon, but rarely writing with any Jewish flavor. What inspired Bob Dylan? Phil Ochs? Paul Simon? Carole King? Is it possible that their passion for social justice is rooted in their Jewish values?
