Will you step forward to help people in the Bahamas whose lives have been devastated by Hurricane Dorian?

You’ve seen the heartbreaking news reports: Several lives have been lost or are missing. Thousands more are without homes. Nearly everyone is struggling to access even the most basic needs.

During times of disaster, our community joins together to care for the vulnerable. This is a reflection of one of our core Jewish values, tikkun olam (repair the world). Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County is teaming up with a network of partners to support those in need in the Bahamas and help them recover from this devastating storm.

We are grateful that our local community has been spared the most devastating effects of Hurricane Dorian.

Thank you to the hundreds of community members who donated urgently needed goods for people in need in the Bahamas through Jewish Volunteer Center’s Hurricane Dorian Supply Drive.

Supply donations are no longer being accepted. We’d like to recognize the extraordinary partnership and leadership of the following community partners who served as collection sites for the supply drive:

• Alpert Jewish Family Service
• Chabad of North Palm Beach
• Gardens Jewish Experience
• Mandel JCC – Boynton Beach

• Mandel JCC – Palm Beach Gardens
• Meyer Jewish Preparatory School
• Palm Beach Synagogue
• Temple Beth Tikvah

• Temple Beth Torah

• Temple Judea

• Temple Shaarei Shalom
• Temple Torat Emet

Special thanks to our partners at United Way of Palm Beach County for their work to distribute donated supplies in order to help people in need in the Bahamas.
