Federation’s Leadership Initiative & Two Key Management Promotions

With an emphasis on continuing to cultivate a high caliber professional team, Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County recently created a position in its new leadership department and promoted two senior staff members after years of dedicated service to the Jewish community.

Whitney Cherner now serves as the Senior Director of Talent Development for the Mandel Center for Leadership Development, a department at Federation dedicated to expanding staff and volunteer leadership opportunities. Federation also promoted Carolyn Rose to Senior Vice President, Jewish Community Foundation, and Jeff Trynz to Senior Vice President, Marketing and Strategic Initiatives.

Prior to joining Federation, Cherner served as the Vice President of Employment Services for the Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services where she assisted more than 500 candidates gain employment in positions ranging from entry level to upper management. In 2016, Cherner received the Sun Sentinel’s Top Workplace Professionals Award and is a frequent presenter for workshops on leadership and professional development.

A trusted partner to Federation supporters for four years, Carolyn Rose will lead the growth and expansion of the Jewish Community Foundation, an initiative designed to help philanthropists leave their legacy to the most pressing community causes that reflect their core values and maximize their philanthropic impact.

In his expanded role, Jeff Trynz will lead the growth and expansion of Federation’s Corporate Sponsorship Program; provide strategic oversight of the Mandel JCC’s fundraising program; and continue to lead the Marketing and Communications department to develop marketing strategies that highlight the impact of Federation on the Jewish community of the Palm Beaches. Trynz joined Federation in 2013 and quickly rose to several supervisory and management positions. He speaks at national conferences and is sought after for his counsel by colleagues in Federation’s partner agencies and across the broader Federation system.
